I should have explained, shouldn't I?! Yes, the 2 scary fey girls are the rusalka. In Slavic folk tale the rusalka are the spirits of girls who suffered a violent death near water. At night ther spirits come out of the water and sit in nearby trees, where they sing and comb their hair, while luring young men to them. They then drown the men. There are various variations; [link] I liked the stories, and the name for them, and there are some very large, twisted trees on my father-in-laws farm, so I created this picture. The original is quite big, about 4 feet tall, so it took a lot of work! I'm glad you like it!

I love scary faery tales, legends, mythology etc. I want to illustrate more legends in the future- so many ideas, so little time! And those scary trees in that field are calling me to draw them again! I'm really happy that you like it.
