Liverpool Albert Dock by night, acrylic on canvas.
For his 21st my little brother asked me to do a painting for him. We're from Liverpool, he still lives there and loves the city, so he wanted a painting of it. He found this scene online as a desktop wallpaper (I can't find it now so I can't credit the original photographer, but if anyone knows who they are please do let me know). He loved the picture and asked me to paint it for him. I work in pencil and watercolour on various papers. I paint organic shapes, trees and figures. I hated doing this! Acrylic, canvas, straight lines, perspective, buildings, bleaugh! My brother is 23 next week, so it's 2 years late, proof of how I really didn't enjoy this!  I do feel bad that its taken so long. It's a bit squiffy, but I'm hoping he won't notice! Lets hope he doesn't want another one for his 30th! Back to faeries, mushrooms, butterflies and frogs now  |
